I got this sitting in my bed today, took me about ten minutes to put together.
Broken Hearts – by David Burdette
As I sit hear letting teardrops drown my sorrow,
And I pray for the hope that everything would change,
I see this broken heart is not an option,
I feel I need to call upon your name.
For you are not a God of broken hearts,
You are the mender, my souls defender,
And you are not a God of broken hearts,
You heal me quickly, a love so swiftly, capturing,
This broken... heart.
Oh there are days I always seem to question,
I don't live in the power of your name,
It seems as if I've lost grace and mercy,
I'm falling Lord, and breaking up again.
But in this tempest,
I finally know this,
You reach to cradle me in nail-scarred hands!
For you are not a God of broken hearts,
You are the mender, my souls defender,
And you are not a God of broken hearts,
You heal me quickly, a love so swiftly, capturing,
This broken... heart.
The wind may blow,
And the thunder may roll,
But this I know,
Your love forever sure.
