GOD’S CHOICE OF FRUIT BEARERS
Jesus said, “You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it to you.” John 15: 16
Beloved, look at this for a choice! Look again at the verse of Scripture: you have been chosen and ordained by the Creator of the Universe to bear fruit and that your fruit should remain. You have not been chosen by any high-ranking figure, but you have been chosen by the Almighty God, Himself. He knows all there is to know about you, and yet He made you His choice. This realization should thrill you and make you want to live for His glory alone. You would want to do the best you can and be the most fruit bearing person. God has chosen you. What a choice!
Let us live worthy of His choice. The purpose for this choice is that you would “go and bring forth fruit.” This spells out action for you. Are you “going” with the Gospel or sharing your testimony anywhere and everywhere so that others will be won to the Lord? Since you are His choice, are you obeying His fruit bearing instructions? “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the Vine, no more can you except you abide in Me. I am the Vine and you are the branches: he that abideth in Me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing. If a man abide not in Me, He is cast forth as a branch, and is withered and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you. Herein is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit: so shall you be My disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue in My love. If you keep My commandments, you shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” - John 15: 4 – 10
If you are actively involved in bearing fruit, then there is a precious promise given to you by our Lord Jesus Christ – “that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it to you.”
Beloved, what is your need to fulfill your part in bearing fruit for the Master? His promise is sure and it is linked up with your obedience to Him to “go and bring forth” for Him. “Whatsoever you ask the Father in My Name,” Jesus said – that indeed is a very big promise for it is like a blank cheque. Let us make our requests known to God in the Name of Jesus Christ.
God bless you as you “go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain.”
